Axfood has entered into an agreement with Seamless for introduction of SeQR mobile payment at Hemköp, Willys and PrisXtra stores. Rollout of the new service will begin during the autumn.

SeQR has been tested during the summer and early autumn at Hemköp stores in Stockholm.

"The system worked without problems during the trial phase, with a positive response from both customers and checkout personnel," says Anders Quist, Head of Business Development at Axfood.

To use SeQR, customers need to install an app on their smartphones and register as a billing customer or set up an account with SBAB. At checkout, the customer scans a QR code that is stored in the store's checkout system, and the cashier presses a button on the cash register. The amount due is displayed on the customer's smartphone, the customer accepts, and payment is completed.
