Hemköpskedjan’s current Deputy Managing Director and Head of Sales, Shoan Etemadi, has been recruited to the role as Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan, and will as of 15 August 2024 succeed Simone Margulies in conjunction with her assuming the role as President and CEO of Axfood.

From 15 August, Shoan Etemadi will succeed Simone Margulies as Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan AB. He will also become a member of the Executive Committee of Axfood AB. Currently, Shoan is Deputy Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan, in which Hemköp and Tempo is included, and also Head of Sales since three years. Prior to that, he has 15 years of experience in the food retail industry from operations as well as purchasing and logistics at ICA and Lidl.

– There has been much interest for this role, both from within the Group and outside, which we of course have been very pleased to see. We have now concluded that the strongest candidate is found internally. Shoan has done a great job in his current role as Head of Sales of Hemköpskedjan and has largely contributed to Hemköpskedjan’s success in recent years. Both myself and the incoming President and CEO of Axfood, Simone Margulies, believes that Shoan with his business-driven leadership is the right person to continue the journey to strengthen Hemköpskedjan’s position in the market, says Axfood’s President and CEO Klas Balkow.

– I feel both honoured and very happy to have been given the opportunity to take on the role as Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan. Together with management and the teams in both Hemköp and Tempo, as well as the many skilled franchisees and committed store employees across the country, it will be great to continue developing the business and attract even more new customers to our stores, says the incoming Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan Shoan Etemadi.

In turn, the current Managing Director of Hemköpskedjan, Simone Margulies, assumes the role of President and CEO of Axfood as of 15 August 2024. The recruitment process for the successor of Shoan Etemadi in the role as Head of Sales of Hemköpskedjan AB is initiated immediately.
