Axis cooperates with Honeywell to provide remote monitoring solution to service provider in Taiwan

Axis Communications has partnered with Honeywell to provide a remote monitoring solution to a telecom service provider in Taiwan. Using Axis camera products with Honeywell software systems and engineering services, the service provider can detect and repair system malfunctions remotely via the Internet. Axis Communications and Honeywell are installing a remote monitoring solution. For Axis the value of the initial order is approximately 450,000 US dollars. The system will give substantial cost savings to the operator that for competition reasons can't be named. Interrupted service is a costly thing for the operators. By remote video monitoring over the Internet many problems can be solved much faster and more efficient than dispatching service personnel. The Taiwanese telecom market is a fiercely competitive one for which quality of service is the prime differentiator. By using the Axis-Honeywell solution the IT Center at company headquarters can keep a constant watch on the equipment remotely, accessing real-time images and data over the Internet and also be alerted in the event of an operational problem.
