Axis introduces new groundbreaking video surveillance products

Axis Communications today announced a set of new products that will further strengthen the company's market leadership on the network video market. AXIS 250S Video Server is based on next-generation surveillance technology, using MPEG-2 video compression, enabling security solutions with DVD-quality video and sound. AXIS 2420 IR is the world's first infrared sensitive network camera, allowing high-quality surveillance in darkness and low-light conditions. AXIS 2130 PTZ is a network camera focusing on flexibility, cost effectiveness and ease of use.

The new AXIS 250S Video Server, based on next-generation surveillance technology is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-performance surveillance applications. Using MPEG-2 video compression, AXIS 250S enhances surveillance applications by delivering DVD-quality video and synchronized CD-quality audio to authorized persons over a LAN or even the Internet. In addition, the video server contains special features such as the ability to trigger external alarms, pre-alarm video buffering and e-mail notification.
