Axis network cameras chosen for car park security in Japan

Axis Communications will deliver a large number of Axis network cameras to a new supermarket in Japan. The cameras will be an integrated part in a car park system to ensure visitors´ safety. The order is valued at approximately 100,000 Euros.

The increasing risk of attacks and vandalism affects car park users and operators equally. With this in mind, one of the major supermarkets in Japan decided to invest in an efficient car park security system. The Japanese company Fukunishi Denki will develop the full car park system including design and maintenance. The network cameras will be used to monitor the car park and to record live images on an FTP server. In this way, it will be easy to retrieve images in case of an incident. The Axis network cameras were chosen in competition with major Japanese network camera manufacturers. "With competitive pricing and an outstanding image quality, the choice to go for AXIS 2110 was evident," says Mr. Naruse, General Manager, Industry Systems at Fukunishi Denki. Network cameras allow facilities such as car parks to make better use of security and surveillance equipment by optimizing existing infrastructure and lowering the total cost of ownership. Unlike cameras used in analog CCTV systems that operate with dedicated cabling, infrastructure and monitoring stations, network cameras plug directly into the existing computer network, enabling cost effective and efficient management of video.
