Axis Communications has signed an agreement with Italian partner Excelsa Srl. for the delivery of AXIS 2100 Network Cameras. The cameras will be installed in retail shops all across Italy as part of an initiative by an Italian trade association to increase store security. The initial order is valued at more than 120 000 Euros.

Excelsa Srl. is well established and a pioneer for network video solutions in the Italian security and surveillance market. Through its subsidiary Real Time Security Srl, Excelsa offers cost effective and easy-to-use surveillance solutions especially designed to fit the needs of small businesses and stores. The solution that now will be installed in a large number of stores across Italy is as easy to install, as it is effective to use. The solution consists of an AXIS 2100 Network Camera, a broad phone line (ADSL) and allows remote access of high quality images as well as recording of live images on a centralized server managed by Real Time Security. "To be able to serve the needs of our customers in this project we needed a device that could send video signals over an IP network without overloading it", said Mr. Gianluca Longo, Managing Director of Excelsa. "Axis' products and technology make it possible for us to deliver first class solutions with a minimum of hardware investments."
