Axis Communications has secured an order valued at approximately 1 million US dollars, in which Axis' network cameras will be used to produce ID cards. The order is part of a larger transaction, in which the Mexican election authority (Instituto Federal Electoral) is purchasing a complete system to create new ID cards through a public procurement procedure. The Axis products are included in a total solution that has been assembled by the Mexican systems integrator, Grupo Qualita. For Axis, this order is recognition that its network cameras are of a high standard and are able to compete successfully in the world market. The crucial factors that led to Axis securing this order were reliability, high performance and excellent integration possibilities. Grupo Qualita has chosen to use the AXIS 2120 Network Camera. Axis foresees major potential for its video products and solutions, and notes that the market has matured, which has generated interest from larger customers and opened up new areas of applications outside the traditional security sector. Demand is growing steadily and Axis sees no indications of a slowdown in the camera segment.
