Axis Communications has secured yet an order for advanced print servers from the Portuguese bank group that made significant investments in Axis' print servers in 2001. This transaction is an additional step in the bank group's work to standardize its IT environment and to lower its total IT related costs. The order value in this expansion agreement is approximately 200 000 Euros.

One major and costly challenge for many companies with complex IT infrastructure and high security demands, has been the need to keep different printing systems working parallel. With AXIS 5470e IPDS print servers, these companies can create uniform printing environments enabling access from PC and Unix clients as well as from IBM mainframes, thus cutting administrative needs and costs. Axis' ability to address this issue was a major reason for the Portuguese bank group's choice of supplier. Axis foresees an interesting market potential for print servers that can handle various types of computer environments, given the increasing need of larger companies to rationalize costs for printing, but without compromising security. AXIS 5470e IPDS is one of the most advanced print server solutions on the market and it has gained much attention for its flexibility and capabilities. With structural changes on the European print market, Axis is also one of the largest providers of print servers in Europe.
