Axis Communications today announced a global partnership with Securitas, one of the largest security companies in the world. Through the partnership, Axis will be a driving force in Securitas' move into the digital video security and surveillance market. The agreement means that Securitas Systems Division will offer Axis' network video products to its global customer base.

"This agreement is of strategic importance to us in many aspects," said Axis' CEO Ray Mauritsson. "First of all, we are obviously very pleased that Securitas will include our video products in their global customer offering. This could mean significant business opportunities for us. Another important aspect of this partnership is the fact that Securitas, a dominant force within global security and surveillance, now is moving into the IP-Surveillance market. This will definitely help to further speed up the security industry's move from analog to digital solutions." After an initial education phase, the Securitas IP-Surveillance concept will, as a start, be rolled out this fall in seven European countries (Finland, Germany, Holland, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden). "We are always very careful in the evaluation of new potential partners. We need to make absolutely sure that our partners live up to our very high demands on quality and reliability," said Juan Vallejo, President of Securitas' Systems Division. "In Axis, we are confident that we have found the best possible partner and product provider for our customers' needs for digital security surveillance solutions."
