Axis Communications has made an agreement with Canon Sales Co., Inc. in Japan for three different products featuring Bluetooth wireless technology. The value of the opening order is 400,000 US dollars. Axis' products will be sold through Canon Sales' own channels. Canon holds a very strong position in the Japanese market and the agreement can considerably increase Axis' sales in Japan. Deliveries are due for April this year. The Axis products featured in the agreement are: - AXIS 9010 Bluetooth Access Point. - The latest Print Server that is compatible with Bluetooth wireless technology - Axis' Print Plug using Bluetooth wireless technology Although Canon Sales will market the products under its own model designations, they will retain the Axis logo and will be offered on a parallel basis in Axis' ordinary product range. Canon Sales will sell Axis' Mobile Print Solution with Bluetooth together with Laser Shot Printers for the Japanese market. Axis has long-standing cooperation with Canon with respect to other products in which Canon has used an Axis solution for the network adaptation of printers. Japan's leading position in mobile telephony and consumer electronics also makes the market highly attractive for other mobile solutions, such as Bluetooth Wireless Technology.
