News update – Azelio’s DV system in Åmål running and producing electricity

Azelio continues to make steady progress at our ongoing design verification (DV) installations, both in Åmål, Sweden and in Ouarzazate, Morocco. The two Power Unit systems containing Azelio’s unique Thermal Energy Storage and Stirling Engine has successfully been installed at both sites. The installation at Azelio’s Åmål site serves as front runner with the Ouarzazate installation scheduled to start up with an offset of one week.

Azelio’s DV Thermal Energy Storage has now been fully charged, functioning according to plan. Now, we have successfully started discharging our stored thermal energy with Azelio’s own Stirling Engine, converting thermal energy to electrical power. This means our DV installation in Åmål, Sweden, is up and running – producing electricity according to plan.

“The continued progress of our DV system in Åmål is an important step for Azelio as it provides us with valuable information for the ongoing installation of our verification project in Ouarzazate. As planned, the identical Åmål system is ahead of the installation in Morocco, and we are continuously working to ensure that both system installations deliver according to our expectations,” says Jonas Eklind, CEO at Azelio.
