VholdR, the market leader for HD wearable camcorders today announced strategic alliances with ESPN's Summer Games and Winter X Games.

In addition, Ducati North America and the Spider Grips/Ducati Team have named VholdR's ContourHD the “Official Team Helmet Cam.” Contour will be supporting the team with their award-winning cameras and easy sharing technology to capture their assault on the prestigious Pikes Peak International Hill Climb while aboard Ducati's venerable Hypermotard platform.

VholdR and ESPN’s X Games

By aligning the highly touted ContourHD with Summer and Winter X Games, VholdR further solidifies their stake in the action sports community. ESPN’s X Games has long been regarded as “ground zero” for action sports enthusiasts and the premier gathering of the best action sport athletes in the world. Many of the athletes will be wearing a ContourHD during practice events and laps, with the footage being posted to VholdR’s website, and then syndicated worldwide through VholdR’s global media partners. The unique POV perspective is sure to create edge-of-your-seat footage, placing viewers firmly in the moment as competitors launch further, boost higher and throttle-up in a bid for an X Games podium. Coverage of each event will be broadcast globally on ESPN and ESPN2. As part of the yearlong deal, VholdR will also be present at Winter X Games 15 in Aspen.

“I’m incredibly excited to be aligned with these best-in-class events, brands and franchises,” said Dan Strickland, VholdR’s Director of Partnership Marketing. “At VholdR, we do more than sell high def cameras; we provide simple, well-designed tools that enable enthusiasts and athletes to record, post, play and share their passions with communities and fans around the world. If we do our job viewers will taste the dirt and smell the oil.”

“We're excited to get a new partner on board who is so focused on the experience of our athletes, fans and the industry in general,” said Marc Murphy, ESPN’s director of event development. “There is a lot we can do on a global basis with Contour, and ESPN looks forward to rolling out a vision for the future with them.”

VholdR, Ducati North America and the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb VholdR additionally announces its partnership with Ducati North America and the Spider Grips/Ducati Race Team. Next up for the team is a bid to conquer the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the 1200cc Motorcycle division held on June 27th just outside of Colorado Springs, CO. The ContourHD will once again be used to capture every hair-raising moment in breathtaking 1080p high-definition as Team Spider Grips/Ducati pushes their thundering Hypermotards up, up and up in the 88th running of "The Race to the Clouds".

"We're excited to partner with VholdR on this project," said Jason Chinnock of Ducati NA, "Using the new 1080p model at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb provides us with a great opportunity to share the thrill of the Ducati riding experience from the racer’s perspective with Ducati fans worldwide."

“The Ducati brand has inspired generations by pairing beautiful design with forward-thinking and innovative engineering, said VholdR’s Strickland, “We’re among those who’ve been inspired. We’re thrilled to partner with Ducati’s North American franchise and can’t wait to get to Colorado Springs for the event.”

VholdR will be present in numerous ways at Pike’s Peak, including the VholdR Tour Bus. In addition to providing Ducati’s top dealers with gift bags, VholdR staff will be on-site in downtown Colorado Springs for the “Fan Fest” portion of the event and at the race start alongside Ducati. VholdR will provide demo cameras to the public as well as technical assistance to attendees. As with X Games, footage of practice laps shot by the team will also be posted on the VholdR website, and promoted via extensive use of social media, Twitterfeeds and blog sites.
