Sweden: 28 % hybrids in September
Over 28 per cent of cars sold in Sweden in September were alternative-fuel hybrids according to statistics from BilSweden, the Swedish Automobile Manufacturers Association.- Ethanol-petrol hybrid and petrol-electric hybrid technologies are now widely accepted on the Swedish market, says Per Carstedt, chairman of BioAlcohol Fuel Foundation (BAFF). These cleaner technologies are significantly reducing fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.The Swedish hybrid market is dominated by 24 models of ethanol-petrol hybrids from 11 manufacturers followed by two makes of electric-petrol hybrids.
