One-hour session reviews the fundamentals of fiber-reinforced concrete on July 22

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, July 21, 2010 – The Admixture Systems business of BASF’s Construction Chemicals division will be hosting an informational webinar on Thursday, July 22 from 12  to 1 p.m. EDT titled, “The Fundamentals and Benefits of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete for Architects, Engineers and Owners.” Dr. Charles Nmai, P.E., M.ASCE, FACI, will be discussing the following topics:

•           Fiber basics

•           Standard test methods for evaluating the performance of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC)

•           Analytical basis for establishing performance equivalency between fibers and steel reinforcement

•           Fiber Dosage Wizard, an interactive tool to calculate required fiber dosage

•           How to specify FRC

Dr. Nmai is Manager of the Engineering Services Group in the Admixture Systems business of BASF’s Construction Chemicals division and is responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic guidance in the marketing of admixtures and high-performance concrete technologies.
