Bawat Water Technologies AB (“Bawat”) is pleased to announce the receival of an order for a mobile Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) with order value of SEK 6-8m from a renowned US customer. The mobile BWMS is for a large sea-going barge, and once again confirms that heat treatment technology is superior to many customers when choosing a BWMS system.

The customer has chosen Bawat’s filter-less BWMS technology specifically because of its proven ability to treat ballast water with just one pass and its chemical-free procedure. It enables a minimum volume of ballast water to be treated, full operational freedom in all water qualities and with the greatest care for the marine environment. The mobile BWMS solution is to be mounted in a 40 ft container with a capacity of 300 m3/hr.

We are very pleased to have received this order as it once again demonstrates that our BWMS caters for a wide range of vessel types and operations. In this case, we are proud of the customers stamp of approval, knowing that we have created a solution that will technically strengthen the customer confidence in its ballast water treatment operations.” said Marcus Hummer, CEO of Bawat.

The order value is between SEK 6-8m and will contribute to Bawat’s full-year guidance of order intake of SEK 35-50m, which was released on August 23, 2022, as one of the larger single orders in 2022.

About Bawat
The development of a completely new approach to ballast water management using on-board waste heat to treat ballast water led to the founding of Bawat in 2011. The ballast water management system avoids the disposal of untreated water in seas and ports.

Bawat’s BWMS is a system that is simple, cost-effective, and sustainable, has zero environmental impact, using standard marine components. No filters, no chemicals, and no UV light. Bawat is the first to market with a USCG/IMO type-approved BWMS that uses pasteurization to treat ballast water in a one-pass process.

Building on its innovative breakthrough, Bawat now offers ballast water management solutions to the maritime industry in three categories:

  • A built-in ship BWMS for retrofit and new builds
  • A mobile container BWMS for use on several vessel in a port, on a ship or for rigs
  • Ballast Water as a Service for contingency services in ports

Bawat is an engineer-driven company rooted in the tradition of Danish maritime innovation with a deep maritime insight. Bawat is listed on Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market in Stockholm, Sweden. Read more on:
