AIEN’s 10th International Energy Summit to mark a decade of global energy dialogue amid industry transformation

Houston, TX – 21 April 2026 – The Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) today announces its landmark 10th International Energy Summit (IES), taking place June 2-4, 2026, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event will bring together global leaders to explore the evolving dynamics of the energy sector in an increasingly complex geopolitical and economic landscape.
Marking a decade of convening the world’s foremost energy negotiators, this year’s summit will spotlight the theme of the contemporary energy industry in a changing world, addressing critical challenges including decarbonization pathways, geopolitical risk, global energy trade, and the future of project development.
The program will feature high-level keynote discussions, expert panels, and networking opportunities, with sessions examining topics such as:
- Can Decarbonization Take Us to Net-Zero Without Subsidies?
- A Special look at Nuclear Power
- The Global Energy Project Development Impacts of U.S. “Energy Dominance”
- Tariffs, Sanctions, and the Potential for Global Energy Disputes
- LNG Project Development in a New Gas Environment
The Summit will also include AIEN’s signature Boulos Lecture Series, delivered this year by Melody Meyer, President, Melody Meyer Energy LLC. There will also be dedicated networking events, including the annual Women in Energy Breakfast, reflecting the organization’s continued commitment to fostering inclusion and leadership across the sector.
Shakwa Nyambe, AIEN President (2025–2026), said: “As we mark the 10th anniversary of the International Energy Summit, the global energy landscape has never been more interconnected or complex. From shifting geopolitical priorities to the acceleration of energy transition technologies, our industry is being reshaped in real time. IES 2026 provides a vital platform for energy professionals to come together, share insights, and develop practical solutions to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
This milestone event builds on the success of previous summits, which have brought together senior executives, policymakers, and legal and commercial experts from across the global energy value chain to address pressing issues such as energy security, sustainability, and investment frameworks.
Kirsten Schachter, AIEN Executive Director, added: “Reaching the 10th anniversary of the International Energy Summit is a significant milestone for AIEN and our global community. Over the past decade, the Summit has evolved alongside the industry itself – expanding from a focus on traditional oil and gas to encompass the full spectrum of energy solutions. This year’s event not only reflects how far we’ve come, but also underscores our continued commitment to equipping energy professionals with the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to navigate the future.”
As the energy sector continues to evolve, driven by technological innovation, regulatory shifts, and changing market demands, IES 2026 will provide a critical forum for collaboration, insight, and strategic dialogue among industry leaders worldwide.
