Avantra 24.1: Latest version with improved observation and automation functions for SAP - using No Code, Low Code and Pro Code
Chicago, Illinois, April 11, 2024 – Avantra, provider of the leading AIOps platform for automating SAP operations, announces the immediate availability of Avantra 24.1. Chief Technology Officer Bernd Engist describes the objective of this release as follows: “We have taken another significant step in our mission to offer the most modern and user-friendly monitoring and automation platform for SAP and cloud infrastructures. This new version includes features for greater operational efficiency through expanded automation and monitoring capabilities to once again make SAP operations more transparent. The basis for these improvements was mainly feedback and requests from our very active user community.” Avantra users should therefore not miss the improved and expanded features included in version 24.1.
Avantra has stood for the efficient automation of recurring tasks within the SAP landscape for years. With the new release, the company is pushing this automation further, for example through expanded low-code or even no-code scripting of the automation workflows. The central components in this area are the so-called automation templates - predefined automation templates that can be used out-of-the-box for the efficient monitoring and management of entire SAP environments. Consequently, the latest version has been expanded to include some of these templates.
Thus, every expansion and improvement in this category is an “Avantra user’s ticket to the land of cost reduction, error reduction, elimination of non-value-added tasks, etc. – because the work to get there has already been done!”, as Bernd Engist explains further. As an example, he cites the possibility of automating the evaluation of SAP Notes: “This not only reduces the manual effort involved in evaluating security-relevant information on their applicability. At the same time, it is possible to effectively avoid overlooking potentially critical information in a complex environment, so that a supposedly well-documented security gap within an operating environment is not closed.”
In connection with the Automation Engine, further investments were made in the requirement for maximum scalability, so that Avantra supports even extremely large, hybrid environments without restrictions. Even extremely large installations with several thousand servers can be easily managed by Avantra.
In parallel to Avantra's time-saving automation functions, the area of monitoring SAP landscapes was also a focus when developing version 24.1. In order to further optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of this monitoring, new “Custom Check” types have been added, for example, with which users can individually configure the monitoring of their systems by adapting and selecting the desired “checks”. With the same goal, further monitoring parameters were added, while their configurability was expanded to cover exceptional situations and so that checks do not remain permanently red.
The Avantra development team attaches great importance to the ability to modernize SAP practices with regard to S/4HANA, BTP, the clean core strategy, etc. and keep them up to date with the latest technology. The same applies to platform updates: By aligning the software with the latest basic technologies such as Java 17 and APIs, Avantra keeps its promise to ensure the highest possible security according to today's standards by regularly updating its software infrastructure.
The user interface has also been improved and carefully expanded, but without overwhelming users with excessive changes. Examples include the improved import/export compatibility of workflows between different Avantra versions, the naming of the affected namespaces in the event of validation errors, improved performance of the SAP HotNews calculation or the new dashboard search.
