Barcelona, Spain – July 05, 2024: Kivnon, a leading global producer of mobile robotics production systems is pleased to announce that Thierry Delmas, Managing Director at Kivnon, has been appointed as the head of the Service Robotics Commission at the Spanish Association of Robotics and Automation (AER). The appointment marks a significant milestone for both Thierry Delmas and Kivnon, underscoring his strategic contributions and more than two decades of experience in the robotics and automation sector.

Thierry's appointment marks a significant milestone for Kivnon. His leadership has been instrumental in propelling Kivnon to the forefront of autonomous robotics and will now benefit the broader robotics community through his role at AER.  As head of the Service Robotics Commission, Thierry will focus on fostering a collaborative environment where industry leaders can share knowledge, drive innovation, and address the challenges facing the robotics sector.

The Service Robotics Commission of AER plays a pivotal role in advancing service robotics across Spain, serving as the official representative of the IFR (International Federation of Robotics) in the country. With 80% representation of the Spanish mobile and social robotics sector, the commission is dedicated to promoting sector growth, influencing policy, and fostering innovation.

Further to his appointment, Thierry Delmas said: "I see this as an opportunity to shape the future of service robotics in Spain. My goal is to foster collaboration within the industry and drive advancements that make robotics accessible across all sectors and business sizes."

Alex Salvador, Managing Director of AER, commented on Thierry's appointment, stating, "Thierry Delmas brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision that aligns perfectly with our commission's goals. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to advocate for the growth and recognition of service robotics both in Spain and abroad, especially within a sector that exports on average 80% of its production.”

Under Thierry's guidance, Kivnon has achieved significant milestones in robotics and logistics. Thierry's strategic direction culminated in the successful launch of the K55 series, an innovative line of autonomous mobile robots recognised for transforming warehouse and distribution centre operations. These robots have not only strengthened efficiency but have set new benchmarks in the industry. Additionally, Thierry has led Kivnon's ambitious expansion into global markets, with notable projects established in China and Egypt.

"This appointment not only reinforces Kivnon's commitment to advancing service robotics but also enhances our reputation as a leader in the field," added Thierry Delmas. "We are confident that this will foster new opportunities and strengthen our position in the market."
