Miami “Express Yourself” Lounge Serves up a Taste of “Miami Live Music Month”

(MIAMI, FL) March 11, 2011

With thousands of bands converging at the 2011 South by Southwest Music and Media Conference (SXSW), Greater Miami and the Beaches will showcase artists that represent Miami-Dade's dynamic music scene.  On March 14, 2011 the Miami “Express Yourself” Lounge – located at The Paradise Café in the heart of Historic 6th Street in downtown Austin, Texas USA – will be stage to performances by Miami-based Grammy-nominated Spam All-Stars, rock/pop artist Nicolle Chirino, hip-hop collective Mayday, singer/songwriter Alex Nelson, rap/R&B artist Nic Dante, and the rock/hip hop sounds of The Five One.

Presented by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), the Miami “Express Yourself” Lounge is located at 401 East 6th Street in Austin and will be open 11 AM – 7 PM to all festival attendees and guests 21 and over.  Visitors will experience Miami’s unique music culture and offerings while enjoying Mojitos, Bloody Marys and an array of light fare.  The Lounge will provide musicians, songwriters, Artists and Repertoire professionals and music-lovers a convenient spot to learn about the destination’s live music scene and events such as the Miami Winter Music Conference and The Miami Music Festival.  Attendees will also hear more about Miami’s Live Music Month program, the only month-long celebration for live music in the world.

While enjoying the live shows, visitors to the Miami “Express Yourself” Lounge also will learn about the Miami Beach 25/7 campaign and the Miami Boutique Hotels program including a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Miami’s Live Music Month and stay at the chic Shore Club located in the heart of Miami Beach.

In addition to engaging in the music-driven community attending SXSW, filmmakers and industry professionals alike can learn about the exciting film events and programs in Miami, such as The Miami International Film Festival and the new Florida film tax incentives.
