ANNUAL COLORADO TRADITION ATTRACTS 100,000 ATTENDEES FOR FOOD, GRAPE STOMPING & LIVE MUSIC
LAKEWOOD, COLO, Sept. 2, 2011--For two days each September everyone is Italian during the annual Festival Italiano celebration at Belmar, a free event featuring Italian food, culture, wine and artisans on Sept. 10-11,
2011 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. From ‘Bon giorno’ to ‘Ciao,’ guests will be immersed in traditional Italian food, grape stomping, a bocce tournament, live music and traditional Italian flag performers flown in
from Italy--all among the colorful tents, flags and décor that transform the outdoor event into a little slice of Italy! Proceeds from the event benefit Project Angel Heart, a Colorado non-profit
organization dedicated to cooking and delivering fresh meals to the homes of those coping with illness at no cost to recipients.
“Festival Italiano brings together the sights, sounds and delicious smells of an Italian celebration each September in Belmar,” said Brittany Maynor, Belmar Marketing Director. “From the energy around the Bocce Tournament to the kids laughing as they stomp grapes --the authenticity of the event is attributed to the regional Italian food and entertainment participants involved each year!”
Now in its 8thyear, Festival Italiano is known for serving up the region’s best selection of homemade Italian specialties for guests as well as an artisan marketplace, live entertainment and chef tastings surrounding the regular flag throwers’ performance.
