Bemidji State University announces 2013 music auditions
The Department of Music at Bemidji State University will hold auditions for entrance into the program and for scholarships on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. The auditions will take place in the Thompson Recital Hall of the University’s Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. The auditions are open to instrumentalists and vocalists who are interested in Bemidji State’s music program. and who will enter or transfer to the University in the fall of 2013.
Music scholarships available at Bemidji State include full-tuition scholarships for Minnesota residents, housing scholarships, many endowed scholarships, and numerous cash awards. Students who are unable to be present on the February date may schedule an audition on or prior to March 2, 2013. Recorded auditions are accepted for all but full and half-tuition scholarships.
The Department of Music has a long and distinguished reputation for musical performance and academic training. Students, regardless of major, may participate in a wide variety of performance settings, including concert band and wind ensemble, jazz band, orchestra, choirs, operas, and chamber music experiences.
Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and also acknowledged by Steinway & Sons as an “All-Steinway School,” the department offers a bachelor of arts degree in music and a bachelor of science degree in music education.
