Experience Bavaria at The Berghoff During Our 27th Annual Oktoberfest, Vote for Our ‘Prince & Princess' & Celebrate All Month Long in the Restaurant!

Berghoff brings Bavaria to you – two ways! One way is during our 27th Annual Oktoberfest, the outdoor festival taking place from 11 am to 9 pm on September 12-14, 2012 at John C. Kluczynski Federal Plaza (corner of Adams and Dearborn). The second is during our month-long, in-restaurant celebration kicking-off on September 6th and partying all the way through October 6th.
Our open-air celebration boasts the best Bavarian-style revelry Chicago has to offer with classic German food, Berghoff’s private-label Oktoberfest beer, and Bavarian polka performances by the beloved Johnny Wagner Band. Admission is free. This year’s festivities include live entertainment by:
- Johnny Wagner Band: 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 12 through Friday, Sept 14
- Wedding Banded: 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12
- Maggie Speaks: 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13
- Modern Day Romeos: 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14
And the party continues inside our restaurant all month long (through Oct 6) with even more traditional German food offerings, festive décor, raffles and special events including:
- Bourbon Tasting: 7:00 pm Wednesday, Sept 26 for $60
- Beer & Brat Tasting: 6:00pm Wednesday, Oct 3 for $33
- Mercy Home raffles: multiple dates throughout the month
Prince & Princess Contest -- The Berghoff is looking for our very own ‘Prince & Princess’! To honor Oktoberfest’s origin as a celebration for Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese in 1810, we put out a call to all engaged couples… they told us why they deserve to be crowned, we chose 9 awesome finalist couples and they're currently proving it through social media votes. We heard stories of generosity, creative proposals and of course, German connections. It was hard to narrow them down but we’re excited to announce our 9 finalists who are still in the running and will now rely on the public’s votes to determine the ultimate Prince & Princess (or in one case, Princess & Princess).Weigh in now with your vote and help one couple win an all-expense paid rehearsal dinner in our historic restaurant!
Spot the Berghoff Brat! -- Herman der German the Berghoff's Mascot will hit the streets handing out mini-brats, coupons, flyers and the like. "Spot" him for a chance to win a VIP party for five friends at the festival, gift certificates, and more. Oktoberfest Raffle -- This year, there are two raffles you can to help support our charity, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls , which means there are two ways to win! The first is our annual, Oktoberfest-specific raffle, featuring a luxury weekend vacation for two to Southern California sponsored by American Airlines, Strategic Hotels & Resorts, and Travel Center Tours. Tickets are only $20 each or 3 for $50 and you could win an experience of a lifetime. Winners will be annouced on Sept 14th during the fest.
The second raffle is in honor of Mercy Home’s 125thAnniversary this year, we are helping them sell tickets all month long within our restaurant! Separate from the Oktoberfest raffle, this one gives you a chance at winning $10,000 two different times – on drawing will take place on October 20thand another one on December 6th. Tickets are only $100. Best of luck!
