The owners of Weda Skog, Bergkvist-Insjön AB and Moelven Industrier ASA, have agreed to divide the company between themselves. All employees are to receive offers for employment in either Bergkvist Siljan or Moelven Skog.

Since 2000, Weda Skog has been responsible for the raw material supply to the owners’ sawmills Bergkvist-Insjön AB in Insjön and Moelven Dalaträ AB in Mockfjärd. Following the merger between Bergkvist-Insjön and Siljan Group into Bergkvist-Siljan AB in 2019, the owners of Weda Skog have decided to end the cooperation by dividing the company and integrating the respective parts in their own operations.

All 21 employees in Weda Skog are to receive offers for employment in either Bergkvist Siljan or Moelven Skog. The new structure will be in place from 1st September 2020, with all existing lumber contracts to be settled in Weda Skog until the end of the year. The employees were informed about the future of the company at a staff meeting held this afternoon. The Union negotiations will commence immediately.

Ulf Bergkvist, chairman of Bergkvist-Siljan AB, and Björn Johansson, CEO of Moelven Skog AB, express the following in a joint statement:

- We are happy to have reached this solution and are particularly happy that no one loses their employment when Weda Skog becomes part of our respective operations. Through this solution we will transfer key competencies to the organizations, which allows for a more suitable raw material supply to our sawmills in the region.
