Betolar's solution supports Indian architects, real estate developers and contractors in the green transition
Friday, 26 May 2023, Ahmedabad, India.
Betolar's Indian partner, Vyara Tiles, will launch locally produced low-carbon concrete products with the Geoprime® solution at the ACE Reflect event in Ahmedabad, India, on May 26-27, 2023, targeting architects, designers, and property developers.
"In our environmentally friendly construction products developed with Vyara Tiles, cement has been completely replaced with circular economy materials, drastically reducing their CO2 emissions. The green transition requires a change in thinking throughout the value chain, from ordering to construction," says Abhishek Bhattacharya, CEO of Betolar India.
Betolar's Geoprime is a next-generation low-carbon alternative to cement. Geoprime allows for designing projects with cement-free concrete that utilizes industrial by-products such as fly ash and blast furnace slag.
The solution is suitable for high-quality surfacing materials, kerbstones, as well as building bricks and larger outdoor structures.
"The availability of products is a prerequisite for incorporating low-carbon solutions in design," says Mehul Jain, owner of Vyara Tiles.
Architects define the green transition of construction
Building materials are a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the construction industry. With new technologies, architects, property developers, and built environment designers in the public sector can reduce the carbon footprint of concrete by up to 80 percent.
"In India, the architectural community understands its role in the green transition of construction. New sustainable surfacing materials for environmental construction offer architects green alternatives for design projects that prioritize carbon neutrality. By using these new products, property developers can also accelerate the green certification of their projects," says Bhattacharya from Betolar.
Concrete industry takes responsibility for green transition solutions
The green transition requires taking responsibility at every stage of the value chain. Betolar's Indian partner, Vyara Tiles, has tested the new material technology, Geoprime.
"Betolar's innovative Geoprime technology meets our customers' exceptionally high-quality requirements. Concrete production associated with construction undoubtedly has significant environmental impacts. Therefore, our goal is to minimize our CO2 footprint. Integrating Betolar's cutting-edge technology into our key product lines is a significant step toward achieving our sustainable development goals," says Mehul Jain from Vyara Tiles.
The green transition is a national initiative in India
The construction industry in India is growing rapidly and contributes significantly to economic growth. The Indian Green Building Council recognizes the immediate need to adopt green technologies that support sustainable growth.
"To ensure the green transition, we have developed a rating program that allows architects and designers to apply green concepts and thereby reduce measurable environmental impacts," states the Indian Green Building Council in its goals.
India is a large construction market, so the adoption of low-carbon solutions has a positive impact on global CO2 emissions as well.
"The reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from the concrete industry is a timely and important issue. The products we are introducing are the first low-carbon concrete products in the Indian market that allow designers and architects to significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of future buildings and outdoor structures already in the design phase," says Abhishek Bhattacharya from Betolar.
