Life on Mars (if You’re Lucky): GRIM Brings Red Planet Survival to VR with Early Access Alpha January 16

STOCKHOLM and PORT CHARLOTTE, FL, JANUARY 14, 2025 — Following their earlier collaborative efforts with VR’s top-selling extraction shooter, Ghosts of Tabor, Beyond Frames Entertainment and Combat Waffle Studios have just announced that they will unleash the early access alpha of their next title onto unsuspecting astronauts this week. The first playable version of GRIM will be available on SteamVR and Meta Quest starting Thursday, January 16. GRIM challenges players to navigate the harsh realities of survival on the Red Planet, where every decision could be their last.
Developed by one-man studio Spoonfed Interactive with ongoing support from Combat Waffle, GRIM trades the tactical combat of Tabor for the raw, unfiltered challenges of survival in a brutal post-apocalyptic world. With a focus on realism and deeply detailed systems, every choice — whether it’s crafting a tool or scavenging for food — could mean the difference between life and death. GRIM is survival stripped to its core, where resilience is as important as strategy.
Welcome to Mars. It’s Not What You Expected.
Players awaken on a dying Mars stripped of resources and surrounded by the remnants of failed colonization efforts. As supplies dwindle and dangers rise, survival becomes a constant battle. Players must scavenge, craft, and fight to endure in a landscape riddled with hazards and other desperate survivors.

- A Hostile Martian World: Limited oxygen, extreme weather, and abandoned outposts that hide as much danger as opportunity are just the start
- Dynamic Survival Mechanics: Monitor hunger, hydration, and more while adapting to Mars’ unforgiving landscape

Beyond Frames Entertainment is serving as publisher on GRIM, with Combat Waffle Studios providing ongoing developer resource support and guidance to Spoonfed Interactive. Beyond Frames also serves as publisher on Combat Waffle Studios’ first title, Ghosts of Tabor, which was recently revealed to have surpassed $20 million in revenue in less than 18 months.
Community-Driven Development from Day One
GRIM’s Early Access Alpha is more than just a launch—it’s the beginning of a collaborative development journey. Following a similar approach to launch as Ghosts of Tabor, which thrived through player feedback, GRIM will evolve based directly on the feedback of its player community.
