Bibby Distribution is strengthening its board of directors with the appointment of Paul Kavanagh as Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting directly into Chief Executive Officer, Iain Speak.

Kavanagh joins the company following four years with Peel Ports Group as Managing Director of its Medway division. Here he undertook responsibility for the operation of two ports and a short sea shipping operation in Rotterdam.

Previously Kavanagh has held senior positions with NYK Logistics, Christian Salvesen and P&O Ferrymasters, gaining a wealth of experience ranging from sales to the running of complex supply chains.

“With full responsibility for the company’s UK operations, Paul’s primary focus will be to build upon recent successes and facilitate business growth via existing and new customers,” said Iain Speak. “Paul has the skills and experience to strategically develop and implement new services offered by the company, and I am confident that he will add real strength to the current executive team at Bibby Distribution.”

Kavanagh will be based at the company’s Duke Street head office in Liverpool.
