Bibby Distribution has been highlighted as one of the world’s most environmentally-sensitive logistics companies, with its shortlisting for the Global Freight Awards Environment Award.

The company’s substantial efforts – already recognised with the FTA’s Leadership in Carbon Reduction Award earlier this year – will see Bibby Distribution standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest freight companies in the world as a leader in driving down the carbon cost of logistics.

Bibby Distribution Head of SHEQ Andrew Mawson says: “The Global Freight Awards are hotly contested by companies across the globe. We’re proud to already be a leader in logistics in reducing carbon emissions and this further recognition shows how our flexibility combined with our capacity can deliver world-class service while minimising our effect on the planet.”

Bibby Distribution’s shortlisting recognises a spectrum of carbon-cutting initiatives across the business, ranging from wider use of longer semi-trailers (LSTs), and a redesign of its milk collection fleet, to revolutionary new ‘virtual’ warehouses and tailored driver training.

The Global Freight Awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Lancaster London hotel on 3 November.
