BIBBY DISTRIBUTION KEEPS CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS FOR SEABROOK CRISPS
7 February 2014
Bibby Distribution has renewed its contract with Seabrook Crisps for a further three years, after developing flexible ways to boost the efficiency of the manufacturer’s warehousing and logistics operations to help fuel business growth.
The multi-million pound deal will see Bibby deliver approximately 3.5 million packets of crisps per week to outlets ranging from supermarkets, wholesalers and sports clubs, to airports and value retailers across the country.
Bibby Distribution has provided Seabrook Crisps with logistics support since 2007, with its partnership continuing under a new flexible approach. Bibby will operate on a transactional model, meaning stock levels can be quickly and easily increased to cope with seasonal peaks, boosting the efficiency of the customer’s storage and distribution.
Daniel Woodwards, Seabrook Crisps Financial Director, says: “A constantly changing marketplace means we need a logistics solution that allows us to adapt and respond to what our demands are now but also to plan for future growth. Bibby Distribution stands out for offering both the national reach and the in depth understanding of its customers that we require, so we are delighted to continue our successful partnership.”
Darrell Rushforth, Regional General Manager at Bibby Distribution, says that delivering a flexible service that is developed according to the customer’s needs is essential.
“Having worked with Seabrook Crisps for over five years, we truly understand their requirements as valued customers, which is why we are able to offer them a transactional deal that gives them enough warehousing options to ensure their business growth,” says Rushforth. “That flexibility is at the core of Bibby Distribution’s ethos, which will provide one of Yorkshire’s most iconic brands with the support they need for now and the future.”
As the sole logistics supplier for Seabrook Crisps, Bibby Distribution will dispatch around 90,000 cases of snacks a week through a mix of dedicated and multi-user vehicles operating in both Seabrook and Bibby livery.
Seabrook Crisps was founded in Yorkshire in 1945. With its factory still based in the firm’s home town of Bradford, it provides crisps to retailers and customers across the country.
Bibby Distribution manages the contract out of its 530,000 ft² British Retail Consortium accredited multi-user warehouse in Yeadon, located just eight miles from Seabrook Crisps’ factory.
