BIBBY DISTRIBUTION SHORTLISTED FOR GROCER GOLD AWARDS
8 May 2015
Bibby Distribution has been shortlisted for the Grocer Gold Awards thanks to its innovative collaboration with Tayto.
The Grocer Gold Logistics Supplier of the Year award is for the logistics-based supplier which has brought about the most tangible and meaningful improvements to the operations and offer of a retailer, manufacturer or wholesaler in the previous 12 months. Judging is conducted by experts from across the FMCG industry.
Bibby Distribution made the shortlist after developing with Tayto a ‘virtual warehouse’ system that is estimated to take 250 tonnes of CO2 emissions out of the supply chain by July 2015.
Furthermore, in addition to generating crucial environmental savings, the joint Bibby Distribution and Tayto virtual warehouse approach has improved on-shelf availability for retailers and provided a platform on which to establish a home delivery market for the largest British-owned snack manufacturer in the UK.
Chris Strutt, Director of Client Development, Bibby Distribution, says: “Our work with Tayto is a perfect example of the approach we want to take with every client. We’re determined to offer the innovative, flexible logistics solutions you’d associate with smaller firms, backed by the volume and capacity we have as one of Britain’s biggest 3PLs. We’re already delighted that our approach has transformed operations for Tayto, and to have this recognised by the leading lights of food retail is a great honour.”
The Grocer Gold Awards are held annually by The Grocer, the leading title for the FMCG industry. The awards will be held on 9 June
