Bibby Distribution beat off strong competition to win the Customer Service Award at the prestigious UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) Awards 2013 held at the Dorchester Hotel, London, reflecting the company’s commitment to meet its customers’ increasingly complex and changing needs.

The logistics firm received the fiercely contested Customer Service Award in conjunction with Kellogg’s for its collaborative approach led by Contract Manager John Finnigan. Since its start in 1993, the contract has extended to the management of all finished goods movements to storage warehouses as well as the complete resourcing of Kellogg’s’ Trafford Park finished goods warehouse and the transport flows between its Manchester and Wrexham production facilities.

Roger Williams, Chief Executive Officer of UKWA and judging panel member, says: “The judges sought evidence of customer insight and a customer focused culture. Bibby was able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the customer’s needs and effective ways of achieving measurable results.”

Abzy Shaikh, Distribution Manager at Kellogg’s UK, says: “We view Bibby as part of the team tasked to deliver our supply chain goals. The on-site team are constantly challenging ways of working and coming up with new ways to improve. The management information they provide is invaluable and gives us the insight we need to make positive change in the operation.”

The awards luncheon was attended by more than 400 senior warehousing and logistics industry representatives from across the UK.

UKWA is Britain’s leading trade organisation representing the third party logistics (3PL) sector. The Association has more than 650 member companies operating nearly 10 million square metres of warehousing from around 2,000 depots nationwide.
