Bibby Distribution has been awarded theUKtransport operations for Ryvita, part of the Jordans & Ryvita Company. This latest deal means the firm will now manage allUKtransport operations for the combined brands.

Following the acquisition of Taygroup in May 2010 – which brought with it theUKwarehousing and transport contract for cereal manufacturer, Jordans – Bibby Distribution is said to have ‘proved its worth’.

“Bibby has taken the time and effort to ensure it fully understands our business priorities and strategic direction,” said Paul Jaggard, Head of Supply Chain for the Jordans & Ryvita Company. “The baton was passed seamlessly between Taygroup and Bibby and this has ultimately given us the confidence to develop the relationship further.

“Since the merger of the Jordans and Ryvita brands, the demands we make of suppliers have inevitably grown; it is important to work with suppliers that will face these requirements head-on and work alongside us to achieve further operational improvements,” added Jaggard.

“Over the last 12 months Bibby has demonstrated the ability to move and flex according to our customer needs and isn’t afraid to invest in initiatives to drive further value for our customers. It is sometimes easy to forget we are separate companies.”

Paul Byrne, Development Director of Bibby Distribution, commented: “Our core aim is to deliver a service that surpasses customer expectation and this new business gives us scope to build on the savings already realised forJordans.”

Transport operations for Ryvita will be managed from Bibby Distribution’s 140,000 ft2facility in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire – also the hub of warehousing and transport activities for Jordans – using a shared user vehicle fleet to deliver enhanced utilisation of all road assets.

“Bibby has the network and infrastructure to deliver the benefits of a larger provider, with the more personal service of a smaller company and we look forward to seeing what further ideas it has up its sleeve for us,” added Jaggard.
