Taunton’s newest corporate event, the Taunton Business Games, will be officially launched at a free event at Somerset County Cricket Ground on Tuesday, 25thFebruary.

The Taunton Business Games will involve teams from local companies being pitted against each other in a series of events, including Mini Olympics, Golf and a Pub Quiz.

The February event will kick things off by giving interested businesses an opportunity to meet the UK Business Games Ambassador, Olympian Jo Pavey, and get an overview of the planned Games plus information on signing up.

The evening will take place in The County Room of the Colin Atkinson Pavilion and hosts, Somerset County Cricket Club, will be offering wine and nibbles to attendees.

Debbi Moore, UK Business Games Co-ordinator, who will be hosting the event said “The Business Games has been hugely successful in Exeter for six years and we are delighted to be bringing the Games to Taunton.

“It’s a great opportunity for Businesses to encourage teamwork, meet other local businesses and raise money for local charities.

“Our launch events are always well attended and we look forward to welcoming Taunton businesses to come and find out more about the forthcoming 2014 Games and meet our Ambassador, Olympian Jo Pavey.”

The 2014 Taunton Business Games promises to be a great event – mixing fun with raising money for worthwhile causes.

As well as hosting the launch event, Somerset County Cricket Club is a great supporter of the Taunton Business Games. As a commercial venue, the Cricket Club presents an extensive portfolio of hospitality packages and provides an array of spaces suitable for any event from conferences to weddings and corporate sports competitions.

Jez Curwin, Head of Commercial Operations, commented “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the Taunton Business Games. The health and wellbeing of our staff is an important factor in ensuring the success of our business, so it fits our own values perfectly – to have fun, try new activities and meet new people.”

Entries for the Games, which will run during May and June, are welcome from any Taunton-based business and are open now.

Registration for the launch event is needed by 14thFebruary – please contact Debbi Moore at debbimoore@ukbusinessgames.co.uk or call 0845 643 2385 to register.
