Exeter Business Games raises nearly £8,000 for Exeter Foundation
22 Exeter businesses have together raised nearly £8,000 for the Exeter Foundation.
As part of taking part in the Exeter Business Games 2013, teams from each business raised £3939 for the charity. This amount has been generously matched by Thomson Reuters, bringing the total to £7878.
Anette Grahns, of Thomson Reuters, said: “Thomson Reuters have been involved with Exeter Business Games since its inception. Apart from it being a fun annual event for Exeter businesses, it gives us the opportunity to give something back to the local Exeter community. Thomson Reuters is very proud to be associated with the Exeter Business Games and the Exeter Foundation.”
Run by Exeter-based marketing agency Big Wave Media, the Exeter Business Games takes place during May and June each year. The Games comprise of eight events including a pub quiz and tag rugby which promote networking and employee participation, while raising funds for the Exeter Foundation.
Speaking about the success of the 2013 Games, Co-ordinator Debbi Moore said “This year’s Games have been our most successful yet. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Thomson Reuters for matching the funding and also to the rest of the teams for their fantastic fundraising efforts to make our total this year the biggest yet.”
“We know that the Exeter Foundation will ensure these funds go to deserving initiatives in the Exeter region.”
The final cheque will be presented to a representative of the Exeter Foundation at the Exeter Business Games Awards Evening in September.

The Exeter Foundation supports local projects and organisations within the greater Exeter area to enhance the lives and surroundings of the people that live and work within it. The Foundation aims to ensure that supporters are able to raise money in the area, for the area.
