Bigbury Ladies Win The President's Trophy

Bigbury Ladies drew their season to a close in style as they won the President’s Trophy final at Tiverton. After beating Fingle Glen at Yelverton in the semi-final in September, the seven-strong team just edged past Libbaton in a nail-biting clash, with Karen Graddon maintaining her unbeaten record by holing the winning putt on the 18th. 

Having won the prestigious county competition in 2009 followed by a defeat in the semi-finals last year, Bigbury were arguably favourites on paper, but with a side of relatively low handicappers that were giving shots in every match it always looked to be close. Team Captain Cathy Harrington said, ‘I am absolutely delighted. We’ve had a great year with a few new additions to the team and our matches have been brilliant. I’m so proud of everyone and thanks must go to all of the caddies and supporters that came on the day.’
