    CEO Per Lindberg comments on the development during Q3 2013: “Third quarter’s results show a stable performance. Our adjusted operating profit reached SEK 331 million corresponding to an adjusted operating margin of 7% which, taking the negative impact from the planned maintenance shutdowns into consideration is satisfactory. The quarter has been very eventful in our production units with two planned maintenance shutdowns in Karlsborg and Skärblacka. After some delay in Skärblacka in connection with the major rebuild, all machines are now up and running again and performing as planned.

    Divestment of paper machine in Gävle completed

    BillerudKorsnäs’ divestment of paper machine PM2 at the Group’s Gävle production unit, to SwedPaper AB, has been approved by the appropriate competition authorities and the transaction has now been completed.The transaction fulfils the requirement set by the European Commission for approval of the combination between Billerud and Korsnäs, and PM2 at the Gävle unit has now been divested to SwedPaper.     CEO Per Lindberg comments on the development during Q2 2013:   “We continue to focus on integration and to create the new BillerudKorsnäs. I am therefore first and foremost very pleased to see that we have realised synergies corresponding to an annual pace of approximately SEK 260 million, which takes us almost half way to our target of SEK 530 million.     Sale of paper machine in Gävle

    In order to satisfy one of the conditions set by the EU Commission for approval of the combination between Billerud and Korsnäs, an agreement has been signed with SwedPaper AB ("SwedPaper") concerning divestment of a paper machine (PM2) at the Gävle production unit. Production at PM2 in 2012 accounted for approximately 2% of BillerudKorsnäs’ total combined sales volume.Under the agreement, PM2 at the Gävle production unit will be sold to SwedPaper. The machine produces kraft and sack paper. The PM2 operation employs approximately 60 people, who will be offered employment with SwedPaper.

    Integration progressing better than planned

    CEO Per Lindberg comments on the development during Q1 2013:“The first full quarter as the new BillerudKorsnäs has come to an end and the integration of the two companies is progressing very well. We have therefore increased the target with SEK 200 million for our integration program to approximately SEK 530 million in synergies, savings and increased efficiency. Non-recurring costs for realising the synergies and savings will increase to approximately SEK 200 million, but are clearly justified given the expected savings.     BillerudKorsnäs issues SEK 1,500 million in bonds

    Today BillerudKorsnäs has successfully issued bonds totaling SEK 1,500 million. The bonds have a maturity of 5 years and fall due on 27 March 2018. The fixed rate tranche of SEK 500 million pays a fixed coupon of 4.375% and the floating rate tranche of SEK 1,000 million pays a floating coupon of three months STIBOR + 260 basis points. The issue was made under the Medium Term Note program, established on 13 March 2013 to create flexibility in the company’s debt portfolio. The program, with a limit of SEK 5,000 million, allows for the issuance of bonds in the Swedish market. SEB and

    On March 13, 2013 the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Sw. Finansinspektionen) approved and registered BillerudKorsnäs’ prospectus in connection with the establishment of the company’s Swedish Medium Term Note program (MTN). The program has a limit of SEK 5 billion and enables BillerudKorsnäs to issue bonds on the Swedish market. “The program is a natural step to create flexilibity in our debt portfolio and enable efficient funding”, says Susanne Lithander, CFO BillerudKorsnäs.     Eventful quarter rounds off a historic year

    CEO Per Lindberg comments on the development during Q4 2012: “With the finalization of the historic combination between Billerud and Korsnäs, the fourth quarter was an unusually eventful one. We also completed the integration of our paper machines in Finland during the quarter. The integration process at BillerudKorsnäs progresses as planned, and from the next quarter on we will start to report the benefits of our synergies.
