Sergel Kredittjänster and Billiant offer new solution for payment of m- commerce services Stockholm, Sweden, 12 June 2001 -- The solution of Sergel Kredittjänster and Billiant will simplify the billing process for operators and service providers, both within the fixed and mobile area. The first customer to implement the new solution is Telia Mobile. One supplier - one solution Today many players in the telecom industry choose not to invest in support systems. Instead they choose ASP solutions, which means renting an application with the functions needed. Sergel Kerdittjänster and Billiant now offer a joint service to simplify the process. This new service provides customers with a turnkey solution for all questions regarding billing and business services within the telecom area through one supplier. - When discussing with several industry representatives, we have seen that our solution enables operators to actually try new business models without taking a financial risk. The operators are only paying for the services they use, in other words, one incurred cost per invoice. This means that they don't need to invest in a support system, says Anders Ericsson, CEO Billiant AB. This kind of partnership is an important market channel for Billiant. Covers the entire process Today, Sergel Kredittjänster has a large customer base that is offered invoicing of traditional telecom and Internet services. Billiant is offering billing software for packet-based services through a license model. The two companies are now joining forces and co-operate to offer billing solutions for GPRS, UMTS, broadband and Internet services. The service comprises the entire process from data collection, to invoicing, to ledger and bookkeeping. Two types of payment models are offered: real- time payment, i.e., the amount is withdrawn from a pre-paid account, for example cash card for mobile telephony; or traditional invoicing, i.e., an invoice is sent out afterwards. - For us it is important to be able to offer complete services without having to develop all the advanced software required for each step of the payment process ourselves. The co-operation with Billiant means that we today can offer billing of packet-based services, says Magnus Melberg, CEO Sergel Kredittjänster. Furthermore, we want to grow with our customers towards new technology and services. The implementation of the new service has already started for the first customer, Telia Mobile. For Telia Mobile the service will include collection, pricing and invoicing for an m-commerce service. The joint solution will, in the first place, be sold through Sergel Kredittjänster´s existing marketing organization.
