BioGaia signs new exclusive distribution agreement with Victus

The agreement refers to sales of BioGaia's Probiotic drops and tablets in Venezuela and Puerto Rico under the BioGaia brand. Launches are estimated to take place during 2012.

BioGaia and Victus have had cooperation since 2001, when Victus started to buy BioGaia's probiotic culture with Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis, for use in Victus' product Glutapak-R. Since then Glutapak-R has been successfully marketed by Victus in most countries in Latin America.

- Starting to sell BioGaia ProTectis Drops and Tablets strategically complements more than ten years of successful experience with Glutapak-R. It is a natural fit for both companies, say the owners of Victus, Enrique J. Lopez and Mariano Macias.

- Considering Victus experience in promoting benefits of Lactobacillus reuteri via their Glutapak Reuteri product, we are now looking forward to expanding our cooperation, says Peter Rothschild, President of BioGaia.

Victus is specialised in nutrition and medical products and has subsidiaries and distribution partners in the Latin American region since 1992.
