Carl Lundberg is leaving his position as CEO and as of January 1, 2006 will manage the sales activities in Asia/Pacific from Sydney, Australia – a natural choice due to the break through order from Australian Customs. The New CEO Bengt Hagander, takes over with immediate effect.

Bengt Hagander has been a Member of the Board since three years. Bengt has exstensive experience in building distribution structures internationally, amongst others from Tetra Pak, and his knowledge will be very valuable now when the company is facing its early commercial stages, according to Jan Persson, Chairman of the Board. “The Board’s decision to increase our activities in Asia/Pacific is important as we see a tremendous interest in our products. In addition it is vital that we increase the support to our local distributors in the region. Our choice to use Carl Lundberg is natural due to his previous experience in the region”, says Jan Persson. “I am looking forward to move back to the region and the timing is perfect as we, among all, have to secure Australian Customs satisfaction of the upcoming installation”, says Carl Lundberg, CEO of Biosensor Applications. The BIOSENS system will be delivered to Australian Customs during the next coming months. Biosensor will also provide start up, training and technical support. The development of the BIOSENS system started in Sweden in 1995 and is based on a unique combination of collection and analysis systems using cutting edge biotechnology sensors. The BIOSENS-D drug detector has outstandingly high Probability of Detection (PoD) rates, and equally low False Alarm Rates (FAR) when it comes to detecting the most prevalent illegal drugs such as amphetamine, cocaine, heroin and ecstasy. Other applications under development for the BIOSENS system are detection of explosives. As of today 200 MSEK have been invested in development of the BISOSENS detection system.
