LAKE OSWEGO, Oregon, USA, November 14, 2012 – BIOTRONIK, a leading manufacturer of cardiovascular medical devices, and R. Kenyon Wells & Associates (RKWA) announced that RKWA is combining forces with BIOTRONIK in a direct employment agreement effective today.

RKWA, under the leadership of President and owner, R. Kenyon Wells, has been aligned with BIOTRONIK as an authorized independent sales organization for 28 years. Mr. Wells’ organization of more than 20 professional sales people - headquartered in Lexington, South Carolina and covering all of the Carolinas and parts of northern Georgia - has been a major contributor to the success of BIOTRONIK since 1984. During the critical growth and expansion phases of building their U.S. sales force, RKWA was a consistent engine of growth for BIOTRONIK. R. Kenyon Wells has built and maintained the success not only of his own organization, but that of BIOTRONIK, as well. The mutual accomplishments of both business entities are indelibly linked, and the combined force is expected to be even more successful.

“It’s time for this strategically important transition, and I support it fully,” said R. Kenyon Wells. “It’s a decision that’s aligned with my personal objectives of maintaining and strengthening our team and aligns with BIOTRONIK’s current plans for continued growth in the U.S. Simply put, the consolidation of our organizations makes sense now, in order to prepare for the future.”

Paul Woodstock, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for BIOTRONIK, agreed, stating, “As we continue to launch revolutionary products like the Lumax DX single chamber ICD and to develop new products that will enter the vascular intervention and electrophysiology markets, we will seek to maximize the effectiveness of all our organizational resources. The established track record of execution in Kenyon’s organization is exactly what we need to ensure the organization’s goals of establishing service excellence, solid market share, and enduring business relationships.”

R. Kenyon Wells will remain in a leadership position to support the integration of RKWA into BIOTRONIK.
