Birdstep Technology AB (www.birdstep.com) , a leading provider of secure and seamless wireless connectivity, today announced its participation at this year’s Mobile World Congress, February 14 – 17, Barcelona, by exhibiting within the Swedish Pavilion, 2F13 in Hall 2.

“It is a painful time for mobile operators,” said Torbjörn Sandberg CEO and President of Birdstep. “Market saturation, substitution, competition and regulation are squeezing revenues and margins.  Add to that the explosion in data traffic and the strain on networks is beginning to show with service quality already suffering.”
Although traffic volumes – particularly for data – are rising dramatically across operator networks, so is OPEX and fixed price packages are limiting revenue growth. Helping operators to alleviate these painful challenges has created a successful business for Birdstep whose customers include 3, Eircom, Elisa, Cell C, KPN, TDC to mention a few.

“The EasyConnect connectivity and service management suite provides a smooth and easy mobile broadband experience for consumers whilst allowing operators to cost effectively support and maintaining their customers,” continued Sandberg “it’s a solution perfectly suited to this challenging market and one every operator who has deployed or is about to deploy mobile broadband services should have.”

Whilst presenting the next generation EasyConnect Mobile Broadband connectivity and service management suite during MWC11, the team from Birdstep will be highlighting the company’s ability to:

Assist in data management with complete data off-load services including automated Wi-Fi credential provisioning and seamless login services.

Dramatically reduce support calls for Mobile Broadband services for Operators and help reduce OPEX

Integrate messaging and marketing capabilities for full subscriber access and control

Provide always connected network roaming with session persistent Android clients”
