Birdstep has appointed new strong board member in Lonnie Schilling

(Oslo, 15 October 2012) Birdstep Technology today announced the election of Lonnie Schilling to Birdstep's Board of Directors.

Schilling brings 20 years of experience of equity investment, strategic business development, architecture sales and marketing within the international communications market. He has lived and worked in Europe since 1980 with a professional focus on the European, Middle East and African markets.

Schilling was most recently Director, Mobile Service Provider Sales & Business Development at Cisco where he was responsible for building and leading sales and subject matter experts to create and deliver replicable mobility architecture solutions for Cisco´s strategic service provider customers across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

-As Birdstep continues to expand globally, it is extremely valuable to have someone with Lonnie’s skills and track record as a member of the Board. His extensive and broad international business experience in the mobile- and venture capital industry will add both strategic and financial value to the company, said Tom Nyman, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Schilling has held leading management positions in global companies such as Motorola, ITT, Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN). Prior to Cisco he held the position as Managing Director Europe for Worldview Technology Partners (Venture Capital) where he was responsible for European business development and helping Worldview's portfolio companies formulate and execute their European expansion strategies.
