Birdstep Technology brings transparent and seamless Cellular and Wi-Fi Connection Management to HP’s new Android and Windows products.

On September 9th 2013 Birdstep Technology ASA announced a global contract with a multinational information technology corporation and OEM for its EasySmart solution. Stockholm, October 10, 2013 

HP’s new range of notebooks, detachables and tablets for the Windows and Android operating systems will include Birdstep Technology’s Smart Mobile Data family of products giving support to seamless and automatic connection to the new HP DataPass service.  

The HP DataPass service simplifies consumer connectivity by including 250MB per month of mobile data for 24 months on select HP devices. "Our customers use HP products while on the move and we believe there is a tremendous opportunity to remove the expense and complexity of connectivity,” said Todd Achilles, Vice President of Mobile Connectivity at HP. “We are excited to include Birdstep’s innovative solution as part of our HP DataPass service, we can bring innovation to market by making it easy for our customers to connect to what is important to them, regardless of the underlying network technology.”

The collaboration with HP represents a major step forward for Birdstep, giving device manufacturers such as HP, the ability to significantly differentiate their products and services in a very tangible way, according to Lonnie Schilling, Birdstep’s CEO. "Birdstep is proud to be delivering a global solution enabling device manufacturers to offer enhanced connectivity services which address real customer frustration,” said Schilling. “The Smart Mobile Data solutions we are supplying to HP will ensure Continuity of Experience for users of the HP DataPass service. Birdstep Technology’s Smart Mobile Data solutions will be available to HP customers in markets with HP DataPass service.
