Birka Energi rationalises its hydro power ownership Birka Energi is disposing of its minority share in the Gulsele and Hällby hydro power plants as well as its part-owned power in Edensforsen to a total of 128 GWh (normal year) to Graninge AB. The transaction is worth SEK 318 million including an option for Graninge to purchase power for one year. The disposal affects Birka Energi's normal annual hydro power capacity by approximately one percent. Birka's just over 200 hydro power plants produced a total of 12.4 TWh during the year 2000.
