Birka Energi reverses trend in earnings Strong growth during fourth quarter Birka Energi produced a sharp upturn in earnings during the fourth quarter of 2000. Preliminary fourth quarter figures show an income after net financial expenses of SEK 627 million (SEK 355 million). "We feel very pleased to have reversed the negative profit trend," says Tomas Bruce, CEO Birka Energi. "Our nine-monthly earnings were significantly lower than in the previous year, but our fourth quarter performance means that year-end profits should reach the SEK 950 to 1000 million (SEK 1114 million) bracket."
