Bisnode has acquired Svenska Nyhetsbrev, a supplier of industry-specific news and business information. The acquisition will enable Bisnode to expand its offering of business critical information to create a better decision-making platform. Svenska Nyhetsbrev is expected to have a positive effect on the Group’s operating profit in 2008.

Svenska Nyhetsbrev produces news and business information in digital and printed form, often as newsletters for different industries. The company, with annual net revenue of approximately SEK 30 million and 17 employees in Stockholm, has shown strong and profitable growth since its formation in 1991. Its customers are decision-makers primarily in the banking, pension and insurance, pharmaceuticals and telecom industries.

“The acquisition will give Bisnode scope to expand its unique content of business information and increase the number of news and information services. Svenska Nyhetsbrev will be an excellent complement to Bisnode’s existing portfolio, where the fact-based business directory can be enhanced with editorial text to provide a more complete picture of a company’s development and market”, says Mats Erwald, Unit Director Business & Market Information.

“Bisnode is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of digital business information. For many years, Svenska Nyhetsbrev has built up in-depth and targeted industry expertise that will contribute valuable information to the company database, and together there are major opportunities to develop new services and expand these in the Nordic region and Europe”, says Gunnar Loxdal, Managing Director of Svenska Nyhetsbrev.

Svenska Nyhetsbrev will be part of Bisnode’s Business & Market Information business unit, which offers its customers specially tailored information. The service offering ranges from general financial and legal information, including key facts about companies, real-time editorial news content and legal documents, to in-depth industry analyses and credit information for small companies.

Bisnode is one of Europe’s leading providers of digital business and decision support information with a large selection of online services in the fields of marketing, credit and product information. The group is active in 19 European countries and is 70 percent owned by Ratos and 30 percent owned by Bonnier.
