Bittium Introduces Intelligent HMI Features on Android™ Automotive Platform
Bittium will showcase new AI enhanced use cases with adaptive HMI design at Virtual Car HMI Europe event
22-23 June, 2020
Oulu, Finland, June 18, 2020 – Bittium has continued developing advanced reference design for Android™ Automotive operating system. The new use cases will feature intelligent and adaptive driver-friendly HMI (Human Machine Interface) solutions with personalized user experience.
Bittium´s reference design, which will be showcased in the Virtual Car HMI Europe webinar, includes a digital cluster and infotainment system built by using Rightware’s Kanzi UI tools. Since January 2020, Bittium has been a member of Kanzi partner program. The reference design has been enhanced by utilizing AI based face analysis toolkit from Valossa company and by developing an adaptive HMI design to support the functionality. New use cases will feature driver recognition and emotion tracking which are used for adaptive user experience. With driver monitoring and adaptive UI, the car IVI (In-Vehicle-Infotainment) and cluster systems will adapt according to driver’s behavior and needs to reduce unnecessary distractions and improve road safety.
“Bittium’s expertise in security solutions and Android platforms, combined with the pioneering 3rd party toolkits, offers a solid platform on which to build future HMI and IVI environments. As a R&D design partner, our aim is to build advanced and innovative reference applications that present more enjoyable and safe driving experience”, said Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President of Connectivity Solutions at Bittium.
