eMBMS with ENENSYS’ Middleware enabled in Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2
Oulu, Finland, May 6, 2020 – Bittium, a leading Finnish provider of mission critical solutions, and ENENSYS Technologies, a leading provider of media delivery and public safety solutions, announced that evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Solution (eMBMS) with ENENSYS’ Middleware, which is intended for public authority LTE networks, can now be deployed in highly secure Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 smartphone. With this cooperation, LTE Broadcast features are now enabled in rugged public safety Bittium Tough Mobile 2.
LTE Broadcast has become an essential aspect of communication as technological advances affect the quantity and quality of information to be distributed to in-the-field officers. The eMBMS solution enables efficient use of LTE radio spectrum, delivering huge amounts of data even in a congested network environment, and every device (car, PTT device, robot) receives the data at the exact same time. This is particularly important in public safety, security and other mission-critical communications, which require fast data speeds, low latencies and reliable connections. Security and reliability are key elements for public safety officers and Bittium has been working with ENENSYS for several years, utilizing their eMBMS solutions in Bittium Tough Mobile devices in public safety projects.
