New non-exec director to enhance buy-side knowledge and client alignment

Houston, 1 October 2013 – Biznet, the specialist in Supplier Performance Management for oil & gas, has appointed Dave Connor as non-executive director to complement and strengthen the composition of the company’s board of directors. Connor has had an illustrious career in the oil & gas industry, having held senior leadership positions at BP and Chevron, and is recognized globally as an expert in global supply chain strategies. He brings a wealth of industry experience in global supply chain management, procurement and logistics to Biznet’s executive team.

With unprecedented pressure to increase efficiency and reduce risk across the oil & gas supply chain, Biznet is trusted by the world’s leading oil & gas companies to drive continuous supplier performance improvement. The company specializes in developing ground-breaking Supplier Performance Management (SPM) solutions, and works in close partnership with clients to deliver outstanding results for clients that add tangible value at every stage. With an impressive track record of success and customers including the majority of oil & gas ‘super majors’, Biznet’s solutions and professional services are highly sought after.

“In recent years, Biznet’s reputation in the industry has gone from strength to strength, as the company has focused on driving value for its clients,” says Dave Connor. “The company’s dedicated staff, dynamic environment and ambitious growth plans make this an exciting new opportunity for me and I’m delighted to be supporting such a highly-experienced executive team. I am also looking forward to the challenge of taking my buy-side experience into the sell-side.”

Dave Connor spent over twenty years at Chevron, performing senior roles in supply chain management and procurement, culminating in leading the Global Upstream Supply Chain Function based in San Ramon, California. More recently, he was Vice President and Global Head of Upstream Procurement and Supply Chain Management at BP. Dave has worked in partnership with National and International Oil Companies and has excellent relationships with the oil & gas industry strategic suppliers and contractors. Connor is a fellow of the International Association for Contract & Commercial Management, a Member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and holds an advanced supply chain certificate from William Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.

“With typically 80 per cent of an operator’s costs and 90 per cent of risk arising from the supply chain, demand for our services has never been higher,” says Jonathan Currie, Biznet CEO. “Dave Connor has extensive global buy-side experience and will help Biznet further align its business offerings with the needs of our customers as we enter a period of increased global expansion. In addition to his considerable customer insight, he also brings a global perspective on procurement that complements and enhances the existing expertise of the Biznet board of directors, and the executive team.”
