Optimum Motorsport updates driver line up for their Dunlop 24H Dubai title defence
Optimum Motorsport, 2012 Dunlop Dubai 24hr GT4 champions, have updated the driver line up for their defence of the title at the Dubai Autodrome which gets underway on the 11th January next year.
Unfortunately Jake Rattenbury has had to be pulled from the line-up due to a shoulder operation; he will be replaced by Flick Haigh.
Joe Osborne and Lee Mowle, two of this year’s winning team, will be partnered by Ginetta challenge front runner, Ryan Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe has previous 24hr experience having raced in the Britcar 24 hr event for the last two years.
As well as retaining its GT4 title, Optimum Motorsport is aiming to secure a top ten finish having finished 14th overall this year. Team Principal, Shaun Goff is quietly confident, “We arguably have a stronger driver line up than last year and as a team we are far more experienced. A GT4 win is a very realistic goal, though you also need a little luck in any 24hr race.”
Optimum Motorsport will again race its Ginetta G50 GT4 which proved to be the car to beat on the fast flowing 5.4km Grand Prix Circuit earlier this year completing no less than 560 laps, some 3,018 kilometres
The Dunlop 24H Dubai event is one of the highlights of the 24H Series, attracting teams from around the world. Already, more that 70 teams, representing nearly 20 countries, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia, have registered for the 2013 event.
