Betway and BLAST Premier extend partnership for a third year
Esports tournament organiser BLAST Premier has agreed a partnership extension with leading online bookmaker Betway.
The deal will ensure that Betway will maintain a strong presence across BLAST Premier’s world class Counter-Strike tournament in 2021 and for a third consecutive year.
The partnership will build on Betway and BLAST’s successful partnership to date that has seen both brands work together over the last two years on BLAST Premier, team up for May’s CS:GO grassroots event BLAST Rising and June’s Bounty Hunt Dota 2 tournament.
As a top tier sponsor, Betway’s branding will feature heavily across all seven of BLAST Premier’s CS:GO tournaments next year, including more branded content opportunities on the back of 2020 and a number of bespoke giveaways on offer. The partnership has become renowned for its fan-favourite content collaborations that feature professional players taking on a variety of Counter-Strike themed challenges, more recently including the Fall Games, Betway Breakout Map and Betway Blackout Challenge.
Leo Matlock, VP Commercial at BLAST, said: “Betway have been on this journey with us since the start of 2019, the renewal of this deal for a third year speaks volumes for the close
relationship we have developed since we started working together and the commitment both brands have to building a long-term, innovative and impactful partnership that has already provided loads of fantastic content for fans this year.
“BLAST recently announced ambitious plans for 2021 and Betway are a big part of these, we look forward to continuing to bring Betway to the very heart of our ever growing and engaged Counter-Strike audience.”
Adam Savinson, Head of Esports at Betway, said: "Over the last two years, we have built an incredibly successful working relationship with BLAST. BLAST Premier has been a highlight of this year’s esports calendar and looking forward, it shows no sign of slowing down. Our collaborative approach to working with BLAST has created some of our best activations to date, and we look forward to building on our success in 2021."
BLAST Premier recently confirmed plans for next year’s circuit, which will be open to all CS:GO teams from around the globe making it the most inclusive and competitive series of events on the scene - with the tournament series the first and last CS:GO event of the year in February and December.
BLAST Premier 2021 will unite all major tournaments, offer opportunities to all regions and crown the world champions of Counter-Strike. Up to 32 teams will take part in the seven BLAST Premier events next year with potentially 80 teams competing in the qualifying events, meaning the 2021 season could see up to 286 matches take place across the calendar year with a combined prize money of $2,475,000 on the line.
